Hello,
after working about a year with xentry and a chinese clone c4 suddenly 2 of my laptops give a message "vci not recognized"
but i always had a c4 on both laptops. Someone an idea whats the problem or what went wrong ??
Don't have made an update from firmware or software, never made connection with internet !!
Xentry 05/2018 and windows 7 64 bit on both laptops.
Hope someone can help ??

You have an error with the solder joints, open the c4... separate the boards. You can remove the plug board. Then solder ALL the pins on the connector do not leave out even if they look good., as shown in the picture in red.
The error comes from cold solder joints, i have often. Please re-solder all. But let it be soldered by a specialist, danger of destruction.

Okay before the c4 i had c3 and was also crappy soldered in china.
I will check. Contacted specialist for soldering it maybe on saterday he can do it.

I dont know, i think its a Hardware problem I've had that more often....I am an electronic engineer.

Can we solder the pins without taken the pcbfrom eachother ?? Think there are also a lot of black connections
soldered from the front panel to the main pcb's ??
SIR look right... you a´can disconect the PCB Board the black pins are not soldered, just plugged, you can pull these apart. Thus, they have the connector board individually.
I would have looked right before I write again, how to build this apart.

Have the pins on connector resoldered. C4 still not works. When i go to administrator tools there's 01 not accessible.
No wlan mac id on the c4 screen and two !! marks and no batteries. See pictures below.
Any suggestions what i could do more.

Tested today again with other laptop still got this two messages .
Someone an idea or have an idea who can repair the sdconnect not to far away from Belgium !
