FAQ:
1.Q: Why does this KTAG cost more than any other unit on the internet?
A: We sell two types of units. This particular unit is called FULLY REWORKED. This unit will function exactly as the original without any issues or failure. The units start as china units that we source from a factory that have the best pcbs. We then remove and replace any components that are prone to failure. These units carry a 1yr no questions asked warranty and are guaranteed to work exactly as an original KTAG. Our other units are called TrueEU and are' of the highest quality, actually better quality than an original unit. We also sell these units on eBay, for around twice the price as our Fully Reworked Units. Please see our other listings.
2.Q: Where is this unit manufactured?
A: Our PCB is manufactured in China, it is then brought to the EU where we disassemble it completely and rework the entire unit where it is finally tested in the EU. It goes through the strictest quality assurance testing before each unit is shipped.
3.Q: Does BMWFXX work with this unit?
A: Yes you can make BMW Fxx series ecus without any problem. Even if the ecus have new GPT micro protection this is no problem either for our unit.
4.Q: Can I make GPT new ecus with this KTAG? Do you include GPT cable with this KTAG?
A: Yes you can make all of the latest GPT ecus with our unit. We also now include the additional GPT cable with our kit.
5.Q: Is KTAG Master or Slave?
A: Master Version
6.Q: Can KTAG update?
A: If an update is released you can purchase new NXP + SDCARD to update. You would have to either de-solder the old NXP and re-solder the new one, or send the unit back to us for upgrade. These units CANNOT be updated online
7.Q:Does KTAG need to be activated?
A:No it does not have to be activated
8.Q: What operating system can KTAG be installed on?
A: Our software is custom made and has drivers for ALL VERSIONS of WINDOWS, WINDOWS XP, 7, 8.1, and 10. You must install this software AS ADMINISTRATOR
9.Q: KTAG is showing the error “Connections not established” ?
A: Either you have a bad USB cable, you can check this via the device manager in windows. If the usb cable is good, but you do not see KTAG in device manager please reinstall as administrator.
10.Q: After Ksuite opens all of the icons are greyed out? What is the problem?
A: Please disconnect network connection and restart ksuite. All protocols should be OK now. This happens sometimes if you have a specific firewall rule enabled on your laptop or router.
11.Q: Can my KTAG work with EDC17
A: Yes, Our Fully Reworked KTAG can work with EVERY PROTOCOL that is available inside ksuite, EDC17 included.
12.Q: Can my KTAG make correct checksum?
A: Checksum is automatically corrected as you are performing a write
12.Q: Sometimes KTAG help file is referencing an adapter? Do I need and do you sell these adapters?
A: Adapters exist to make a user who doesn't enjoy soldering, or wants to get the job done faster/easier. All ecus can be made with the provided cables, however, if you would like to make your life easier we do sell BDM Frames and Adapters. We sell adapters both individually and in sets. We also sell BDM tables, if you would prefer to use boot pins instead of adapters.
