What are the OnBoard Battery's for and the Memory Card Slot used for?
I've been using mine fine without Batteries or SDCard.

The batteries need to be installed when updating the C4 firmware. Please be aware: no normal batteries!!! The need to be rechargeable.
The SD card slot can be used to save different measures. I have not ever used it. And many of the cheap China clones do not even have that slot. When trying to insert a memory card it just disappears in the housing :-(
Removing is only possible after the C4 is opened.

Just to add: C4 fw can be updated without batteries :) If need help send me PM. SD card is only bullshit. New xentry save quicktest as pdf format if needed on hdd/sdd
